
Dr Katharine McGregor-Wood MBChB FRACP is a Consultant Geriatrician based in Sydney. She completed her medical training at the University of Bristol in the UK and worked as a doctor in London before relocating to Australia. She completed her basic physician training and specialist geriatrics training at the Prince of Wales and St George Hospitals in Sydney.
Dr McGregor-Wood currently works as a Community Geriatrician at Mona Vale Hospital, supporting GPs in the care of older patients. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Northern Beaches Hospital and an Honorary Staff Specialist at the Prince of Wales.
Dr McGregor-Wood is a dedicated and compassionate clinician with a special interest in community geriatrics and cognitive disorders, including dementia. In the geriatric outpatient clinic, she sees patients for a range of concerns including memory changes, falls, polypharmacy management, chronic disease and functional decline. With extensive experience in geriatric care, she is committed to helping older patients maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. Her approach is person-centred and goal-orientated, focusing on what matters most to the individual. She places strong value on involving and supporting families throughout the care journey.
Dr McGregor-Wood has contributed to research in delirium at the Prince of Wales Hospital and enjoys teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medicine.
